Ella James is a slashie…a voice over artist/actor/comedian/communications consultant/radio and tv presenter. Did we mention she has a terrific sense of humour, is optimistic, cheerful and the consummate professional?

With over 20 years experience in the Australian media and performance industries, Ella is constantly looking at new ways to exploit her talents and to serve her clients.

In 2007, Ella started on the road of her acting career with a verbatim text work at the New Theatre in Newtown, Sydney. Talking to Terrorists, directed by Pamela Jikiemi was her first time on the acting stage, and since then Ella has done classes with Margaret Davis at the Actors Centre, Kate Gaul’s Viewpoints Workshop, private classes with Grant Thompson, American dialect classes with NIDA’S Bill Pepper, and has recently done a course in the LABAN method at NIDA with Shane Anthony. In 2009, Ella delighted audiences with her portrayal of Lady Bracknell in Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest, and in 2010 she will be continuing her education at NIDA and a trip to NEW YORK. Ella is a proud member of the Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance, and through them, hosts workshops for actors interested in voice over.

Ella is the Live Announcer for the Helpmann Awards at the Sydney Opera house, and providers voice overs for a variety of clients from large corporates to SME’S requiring advertising, message on hold and IVR, internet voice over, intranet training and sat nav.

Ella is the voice for Foxtel’s BIO Channel, for ABC LOCAL RADIO (Nationally), Taxis Combined, and many more, including the DENSO smart car navigation system heard in luxury vehicles around the world. She is delighted to know that Princes Philip and Charles quite possible choose ‘Australian female’ when they are doing donuts around the grounds of Windsor Castle in their Range Rover.
